Their vision is to deliver hope and healing through highly profitable and highly meaningful medical device innovation. Succeeding means they improve patient safety, reduce ICU staff burnout, build machine learning training data, and expand more equitable access to care within the US and around the world with high margin recurring revenue and overall reduced cost of care.

The founding team has industry expertise in the medical device space having worked with start-ups and Fortune 500 medical device companies. Prior to launching BrainSpace, they ran a consulting firm advising start-ups on customer development, financial models, regulated engineering, and scalable manufacturing. They also worked with entrepreneurs and doctors around the world on global health initiatives on a pro-bono basis, investing their own funds into improving access to healthcare.

BrainSpace's first device in used in the ICU to acutely manage cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). This is most commonly done to protect the brain after stroke, traumatic brain injury or surgery. For some patients, it is also used to support the diagnosis of a treatable form of dementia caused by normal pressure hydrocephalus. The first device includes a wearable disposable and a bedside console and offers continuous intracranial pressure monitoring, automated CSF drainage, patient movement tracking and advanced analytics.

BrainSpace has a works-like, looks-like prototype system that they have used for hands-on demos with more than 50 clinical experts and hospital administrators. They are now raising a Seed round to bring on additional team members to quickly bring the product through FDA 510k and onto market.
