Long Miles Coffee
Long Miles Coffee is a coffee company with a singular mission to use coffee as a tool for community transformation in East Africa. With a quadruple bottom line business model to achieve their mission, they specialize in micro-lot specialty coffee that they directly trade with roasters around the world.
LMC started in Burundi, East Africa, in 2013 as the vision of Ben and Kristy Carlson to positively transform the coffee industry and its treatment of rural poor farmers. LMC has expanded its impact and reach by operating model farms and three coffee washing stations in Burundi. These washing stations service over 5,000 families along with over 60 full-time staff to produce and export over 270 tons of coffee at full capacity.
