Suswa Medical Foundation

Suswa Medical Foundation is a nonprofit organization in Kenya, which operates an eye hospital in the counties outside Nairobi. The mission of the organization is to bring eye care excellence and increased eye health awareness to rural and underserved populations.

Suswa is established to provide a specialist eye hospital for patients within and outside of Nairobi and Central Kenya at an easily accessible location and at an affordable price. As the cost of living rises and inflationary pressure piles on the end consumer, every shilling counts more than ever. It has been our observation that in spite of all public transport vehicles terminating their journeys in the Nairobi Central Business District, most eye hospitals are located in far flung locations like Loresho and Kikuyu with the closest being at Upper Hill.

There is a glaring opportunity; to bring eye care closer to the pedestrian population by bringing a low cost - high volume eye hospital to the densely populated diabetic belt, within Central Kenya, which is 30 minutes north of the capital city of Nairobi.
